My Mentorship
Mentor-ship: Buford Dam U.S. Army Corp of Engineers
Mentor: Edwardo Mazariegos and Cecil Quinley
My mentor-ship takes place at the Buford Dam. I mentor with the power plant's mechanical engineer, Edwardo. He takes care of the projects and security details that take place in every project. He helps contractors with information needed for installation or replacement of certain parts of the dam. Since the dam is constantly being remade and refurbished, Edwardo usually has a lot of emails and paper work to deal with, but he always gets the job done on time in a professional manner. He also takes different drawings and designs from the dam's past drafters and makes them in Auto CAD based drawings, so that they are better for use and more mobile because of today's technology. I have learned a lot more about the projects and work loads that go around the Buford dam, and every day I learn something new and interesting that will help me in my future career. I hope this experience helps me along as I go to college and find a job. I aim to become a hard worker one day and I have seen a lot of skills at this mentor-ship that will help me in my job as well as life challenges.
